I will be the first to admit that I’m not the biggest fan of turmeric. I can handle a bit of this potent spice on meats such as chicken, but other than that I usually steer clear of turmeric simply because of it’s taste. So why did I even try baking turmeric in a cookie you ask? Simply put, turmeric has many health benefits and I wanted to challenge myself. I wanted to create a treat with turmeric that I actually like; that has a great flavor, texture and still contains healthy ingredients. And, well…I think I’ve done it!
These Honey-Turmeric Cookies are crunchy, crumbly and sweet. The honey balances the turmeric, cutting its bitter taste and naturally sweetening these delicious little cookies. The turmeric gives these cookies a unique flavor (and color) that sets them apart from many other cookies I’ve tried.
These Honey-Turmeric Cookies are also Paleo friendly and allergy free! So basically, this is an anti-inflammatory cookie that you need to eat to improve your health, right?! 😉

*If turmeric really isn’t your thing, but you want to try these cookies, you can either omit the turmeric completely or try just adding 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of the spice.
Like I said before, I am not a huge fan of turmeric’s potent flavor, but these are the best tasting non-chocolate cookies I’ve ever made. I mean, can you really beat a cookie with chocolate in it? 😉
What are your thoughts on turmeric? Have you ever tried baking with turmeric?
