Five weeks have passed since my last pregnancy update, so here we are at 35 weeks! Roughly 5 to go (I’m selfishly hoping he arrives a little early).
How far along? 35 weeks as of Tuesday, May 2
Sleep: It’s been better lately. I still wake 2-4 times a night, but haven’t been having any issues falling back asleep. I have been having quite a few strange dreams too – some about our little baby boy. I often wonder if it’s because he moves around so much at night!?
Symptoms: My back has started itching again. The rash returned a few weeks ago and I honestly don’t know what to do about it. I assume it will disappear after pregnancy, but if not then I will have to look into it more. I have days here and there of exhaustion and moodiness, but nothing too serious. One week I experienced extreme exhaustion and decided to start taking a B Vitamin complex, which appears to have helped tremendously. I have also been incorporating more red meat into my diet to help with my iron levels.
Stretch marks? Nope! I didn’t get any last pregnancy so am hoping I don’t with this one.
Belly button in or out? Flat
Wedding Rings on or off? On! Haven’t had ANY swelling.
Baby Movement? Yes! Especially when I lay down; whether to nap or go to sleep at night.
Last Dr. Appointment: I’ve been going to the doctor every 2 weeks, but this next month I will be having weekly appointments since I’m getting close to my due date. My belly is growing at an appropriate rate, my blood pressure is great and the baby’s heart beat is strong. Needless to say, my appointments have been pretty uneventful.
Workouts: Same as they have been – a mix of cardio and weights 5 days a week, with rest days varying. Cardio is mostly on the elliptical and for weights I do free weights and cable machines. I tend to do lighter weights, higher reps and make sure not to do any exercises on my back. I think lifting before and during my pregnancy has been SO helpful for back strength – as I haven’t had any back pain (which is a common pregnancy symptom).
Food Cravings/Dislikes: I haven’t been having any specific food cravings, but lately I’ve been wanting more sugary, starchy foods. My stomach often feels unsettled after I eat, but that feeling doesn’t last for more than 1/2 an hour. I do not have any food aversions.
Things you miss? Bending over to pick things up, comfortably washing my feet (gotta do it on the days I wear sandals), having my son sit in my lap while I read to him, being able to lie on my back and stomach, running/sprinting/heavy lifting, having more energy, being able to wear all the clothes in my closet.
Thoughts/Feelings Lately: I’m ready for our little boy to arrive. I’m done feeling huge and not being able to move as well!
