Truce Natural Cleaning Products

It has taken years of trial and error to find what foods work for me and my family and meet our individual needs, but I feel like this past year we finally got it down; I know how to properly nourish my family but still make food fun and enjoyable.  But food is only one part (although highly important) of living a healthy lifestyle.

Since having my first son, we’ve changed the types of soaps, detergents, lotions, and sunscreen we use but only recently have I started looking into natural cleaning products.  Perhaps it’s having another child on the way that has brought this to my attention (as we all know babies put EVERYTHING into their mouths) or just the fact that it’s time for another small change in creating a healthier lifestyle.  But whatever the case, when Truce contacted me about their cleaning products I was more than happy to test them out!

Truce offers a variety of cleaning products that are completely natural, non-GMO, cruelty free, hypoallergenic, and free of parabens, pthalates, SLS and BPA.  They are a company focused on caring for the environment and giving back to the community as well as maintaining a healthy, clean home.

I received the Truce Cleaning Starter Kit, which includes All-Purpose Cleaner, Wood Cleaner, and Scouring Powder.  I also got to try their Citrus & Lemongrass room spray.  I was pleasantly surprised by how well all of the products worked and feel confident in supporting this company.  A full review of each product is provided below.

All-Purpose Cleaner

Scent: Peppermint

Ingredients: Isopropyl alcohol, water, hydrogen peroxide, pure soap flakes, essential oils

Uses: All washable non-porous surfaces.  Glass, granite, tile, steel, stone, counter-tops, floors, walls, tables, chairs, showers…

Thoughts: The scent was strong but refreshing (just like peppermint oil).  I used this product on my windows and counter-tops and didn’t notice any streaking or smearing.  I simply used a hand towel to clean with.  I really liked this product.

Scouring Powder

Scent: Peppermint

Ingredients: Baking soda, oxygen bleach, pure soap flakes, borax, salt, essential oils

Uses: Sinks, tubs, toilets, showers, stovetops, ceramic, tile, chrome, stainless steel, pots and pans.

Thoughts: I used this product to scrub the toilets, sinks and bathtub in our house.  This product left everything looking clean.  The sinks appeared whiter and there wasn’t any sign of scratching.  My only complaint is that this product had a very strong peppermint smell.  It didn’t smell of chemicals, but was just a bit too strong for my preference.

Wood Cleaner

Scent: Citrus

Ingredients: Olive oil, distilled white vinegar, guar gum, essential oils

Uses: Wood, laminate surfaces, leather

Thoughts: I never used wood polisher on my furniture before trying this product, but I was pleasantly surprised by it.  I cleaned our wooden table, chairs and end tables and there wasn’t any residue left behind.  I also like that this product wasn’t greasy and it didn’t have a strong scent.

Room & Pillow Spray

Scent: Citrus & Lemongrass

Ingredients: water, rubbing alcohol, glycerin, essential oils

Thoughts: I liked the scent of this room spray and the natural ingredients.  This isn’t something I would purchase simply because I’m not into products whose only purpose is to make things smell a certain way.  I don’t use candles or perfumes or essential oils but if those are something you enjoy then I would highly recommend this product.  Although it had a strong scent, it wasn’t over-powering and it smelled very natural.

If you are in search of toxin-free cleaning products then I highly recommend looking at what Truce has to offer.  They sell a range of products for your house, pets and personal use that are all safe for you and your family.  For more information, visit their website at
